I have a restaurant in Lafayette, Louisiana. I am a Eastern European immigrant that came with nothing in the late 80’s worked on the west coast in programming and decided to retire in Louisiana because it reminds me of home(the Danube delta). The only reason why I don’t enforce any type of rules on my costumers is because I spent 10 years before opening the business and most of the locals know me and I know them, and yeah, most of the people coming to the restaurant live in the same area with me, in a predominantly middle class, white and black neighborhood. Funnily enough most of the black locals enforce some type of standards on the blacks that are not from the area to behave, so I don’t really need to do it. This is mostly an exception in the restaurant business, you can only do it if the community accepts you and you accept them, most people are narcissists that think that they are god or whatever
